Responsibilities:

प्रकृति के सुकुमार कवि सुमित्रानंदन पंत

अपनी कविता के माध्यम से प्रकृति की सुवास सब ओर बिखरने वाले कवि श्री सुमित्रानंदन पंत का जन्म कौसानी (जिला बागेश्वर, उत्तराखंड) में 20 मई, 1900 को हुआ था। जन्म के कुछ ही समय बाद मां का देहांत हो जाने से उन्होंने प्रकृति को ही अपनी मां के रूप में देखा और जाना। 

दादी की गोद में पले बालक का नाम गुसाई दत्त रखा गया; पर कुछ बड़े होने पर उन्होंने स्वयं अपना नाम सुमित्रानंदन रख लिया। सात वर्ष की अवस्था से वे कविता लिखने लगे थे। कक्षा सात में पढ़ते हुए उन्होंने नेपोलियन का चित्र देखा और उसके बालों से प्रभावित होकर लम्बे व घुंघराले बाल रख लिये।

प्राथमिक शिक्षा के बाद वे बड़े भाई देवीदत्त के साथ काशी आकर क्वींस कॉलिज में पढे़। इसके बाद प्रयाग से उन्होंने इंटरमीडियेट उत्तीर्ण किया। 1921 में ‘असहयोग आंदोलन’ के दौरान जब गांधी जी ने सरकारी विद्यालय, नौकरी, न्यायालय आदि के बहिष्कार का आह्नान किया, तो उन्होंने पढ़ाई छोड़ दी और घर पर रहकर ही हिन्दी, संस्कृत, बंगला और अंग्रेजी का अध्यय

न किया।

स्वदेशी आन्दोलन के प्रवर्तक विपिन चन्द्र पाल

स्वतन्त्रता आन्दोलन में देश भर में प्रसिद्ध हुई लाल, बाल, पाल नामक त्रयी के एक स्तम्भ विपिनचन्द्र पाल का जन्म सात नवम्बर, 1858 को ग्राम पैल (जिला श्रीहट्ट, वर्तमान बांग्लादेश) में श्री रामचन्द्र पाल एवं श्रीमती नारायणी के घर में हुआ था। बचपन में ही इन्हें अपने धर्मप्रेमी पिताजी के मुख से सुनकर संस्कृत श्लोक एवं कृत्तिवास रामायण की कथाएँ याद हो गयी थीं। 

विपिनचन्द्र प्रारम्भ से ही खुले विचारों के व्यक्ति थे। 1877 में वे ब्रह्मसमाज की सभाओं में जाने लगे। इससे इनके पिताजी बहुत नाराज हुए; पर विपिनचन्द्र अपने काम में लगे रहे। शिक्षा पूरी कर वे एक विद्यालय में प्रधानाचार्य बन गये। लेखन और पत्रकारिता में रुचि होने के कारण उन्होंने श्रीहट्ट तथा कोलकाता से प्रकाशित होने वाले पत्रों में सम्पादक का कार्य किया। इसके बाद वे लाहौर जाकर ‘ट्रिब्यून’ पत्र में सहसम्पादक बन गये। लाहौर में उनका सम्पर्क पंजाब केसरी लाला लाजपतराय से हुआ। उनके तेजस्वी जीवन व विचारों का विपिनचन्द्र के जीवन पर बहुत प्रभाव पड़ा।
